I looked at the calendar and worked out that I am exactly a year older than I was this time last year. It is only going to get harder as time goes by, but I fully intend to do this event for as long as my declining body allows me to.
Kudos to Mick, Elaina and the rest of the team for creating something truly magnificent… and sustaining it over the years without compromising on any of the values underpinning it.

Always well run and such a positive vibe. Inclusive and encouraging of all abilities and the scenery is so beautiful. I love attending and look forward to next years event!

The 42k course is the best route I've ever done in an organised event. It's ridiculously difficult and massively rewarding.
From the opening climb, the draining sandy tracks at 32k, St Martha's Hill at 35k, the psychological warfare of the last four k. Superbly designed course.

The route is very well signed, drinks station manned by amazingly helpful people and a well priced beer and nachos at the finish. Throw in a very good espresso at the start, what's not to love?

Loved the event but not so happy with the timing tech as I didn’t get a finishing time. Rather disappointing.

Second year in a row doing the HM and it was brilliant, really well organised, lots of parking and suppliers. All of the staff were super friendly.
Only thing, about 6 of us took a wrong turn about 7 miles in up an awfully steep hill, when we got to the top it was clear it was the wrong way. However, both the steep hill and other direction were both marked with arrows and tape. Also, someone who is partially colour blind the yellow and Orange colours are sometimes hard to distinguish.

Even with that the whole event was brilliant. Did miss the Hurtwood pizzas though!

Thank you to everyone behind the organisation of this years event (21k for me). What a lovely atmosphere in amongst the scenery of the Surrey Hills. Amazing!

Friendly team at registration, good parking and support from the marshals. A great event but some hard long hills to test you!

As a newbie runner, this was my first trail race with elevation. Amazing support, amazing team around you and a lovely route! I will be back next year & hopefully by then I’ll be taking part in the 21km!

This was my 3rd year doing the race and it gets better every year. The course is stunning and there is a real sense of community where everyone is welcome.
