REGISTRATION

  • Where - Shere Recreation Ground Pavillion, Off Upper Street, Shere, GU5 9JF
  • What time does registration open? - 07.30am. Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time for your race.
  • Where to park - As you enter Shere, you will see signs directing you to the car park, our parking marshals will then assist you as to where you can park your car. Although we have plenty of parking (including an overflow car park) Shere is a very busy little village, car sharing and dropping off would be helpful and alleviate over parking at the event. There is a width restrictor as you come into the recreation ground (top end). We kindly ask you to respect our parking attendants, they are there to help you and to make sure you squeeze on to the recreation ground in a safe manner.
  • Once you have parked, head to registration, please note that registration is not in the village hall this year instead it is at the top end of the recreation ground where you will receive your race number and chip. You will be asked to fill out next of kin details and any medical conditions on the back of the race number. Please make sure you attach your race number so it can be clearly seen at all times. Safety pins will be provided at registration.
  • Bags and bikes can be left in the pavilion area. (at owners risk)
  • We will have three portable toilets on site, two in the pavilion and there are more situated in the village opposite Shere Delights.
  • Unfortunately there are no toilets available on any of the routes.
  • Tea/Coffees/Pastries etc. will be available for sale in the morning before the start of each race supplied by Laura from Door Step Coffee.
  • The Hurtwood Inn will be supplying pizza's and refreshments in the afternoon.

RACE START TIMES

42K Start Time – 9.00am

21K Start Time – 9.30am

10K Start Time – 10.00am

Even though the routes are marked we would highly recommend that you download one of the gpx files from our booking page - https://surreytrekandrun.eventrac.co.uk/e/the-shere-42k-21k-and-10k-multi-terrain-event-13098/route-maps

Signs and tape sometimes mysteriously disappear!!! so we highly reccommend using some form of GPS system.

This year we are making every effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible by not using plastic cups and bottles so please bring your own cup/drinking vessel as we won't be supplying these on aid stations. If you are running in the 21k or 42k then you should be starting with water.

Weather Forecast - We are expecting temperatures of 21 degrees. For the 42k and 21k race please make sure you start the race with fluids.

Dogs - We won't be allowing dogs to run on the day, sorry we feel that 21 degrees is too warm for animals to run in.
