Shere 42k/21k/10k Event 2026!

We just need to confirm a few things with you before you head down to us on Saturday.

REGISTRATION

  • Where - Shere Recreation Ground Pavilion, Off Upper Street, Shere, GU5 9JF
  • What3Words – ideas.cliff.narrow
  • For emergency purposes we recommend downloading the What3Words app yourselves to  make it easier easier for us to find you in case of emergency.
  • What time does registration open? - 07.30am in the race registration marquee at the top of the Recreation Ground. Please make sure you arrive in plenty of time for your race.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR RACE START TMES BELOW:

42K Start Time – 9.00am

21K Start Time – 9.30am

10K Start Time – 10.00am

  • Where to park - As you enter Shere, you will see signs directing you to the event car park, our parking marshals will then assist you as to where you can park your car on the playing field. Although we have plenty of parking (including an overflow car park) Shere is a very busy little village, car sharing and dropping off would be helpful and alleviate over parking at the event. There is a width restrictor as you come into the recreation ground (top end) (2.6m). We kindly ask you to respect our parking attendants, they are there to help you and to make sure you park on to the recreation ground in a safe manner.
  • Once you have parked, head to registration, please note that registration is not in the village hall this year instead it is at the top end of the recreation ground where you will receive your race number and chip. You will be asked to fill out next of kin details and any medical conditions on the back of the race number. Please make sure you attach your race number so it can be clearly seen at all times while you are on the trails. Safety pins will be provided at registration.
  • Bags and bikes can be left in the pavilion area. (at owners risk)
  • We will have three portable toilets on site and there are more situated in the village opposite Shere Delights.
  • Unfortunately there are no toilets available on any of the routes.

This year we are making every effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible by not using plastic cups and bottles so please bring your own cup/drinking vessel as we won't be supplying these on aid stations. If you are running in the 21k or 42k then you should be starting with at least a 500ml bottle of water.

Weather Forecast - We are expecting temperatures of 21 degrees and with mixed cloud and sunshine. So please dress accordingly and you hydrate regularly.

42k & 21k Competitors - Please take particular care as a lot of the route is exposed so you may want to consider things like, sun hat/caps, sun cream and salt tablets/electrolytes if nesessarry as we don't supply these on drink stations.

Dogs - We won't be allowing dogs to run on the day, sorry we feel that 21 degrees is too warm for animals to run in.

The Routes:

Even though the routes are fully marked we would highly recommend that you download one of the gpx files from our booking page: Route Maps

Signs and tape sometimes mysteriously disappear!!! We HIGHLY advise using some form of GPS system.
